At-Home Online Learning

Big picture
Week One of our At-Home Online Learning is in the books, and we've learned a lot (hopefully our students have too!) Teachers are continuing to create meaningful work for our students each day through either Canvas or Google Classroom. We are grateful for our awesome teachers that have embraced this new challenge and are working hard to learn and grow each day.

The hope is that students will login daily and complete each day's work for each class. We are so grateful for so many of you students who have been willing to jump right in and get back to learning despite all that is happening around us!

And a SPECIAL Shout-out to our parents who have jumped in to help their kids stay on task and continue their school work from home. It truly is a TEAM effort to make this happen, and we're grateful to all of you!

We are STRONGER TOGETHER (even when we are not physically together!)

Big picture
Despite the fact we are not currently together, we wanted to still celebrate UTAH SCHOOL SPIRIT WEEK with the rest of the State. We encourage you to participate, and post your pictures to Instagram. Tag @official_diamond_fork_jr and use the hashtag #utahschoolspirit. We look forward to seeing what you guys have been up to!

3rd Term Grades

Third Term has come to an end! Can you believe it!? Teachers are working to finalize grades over the next day or two--they should be finalized by Tuesday afternoon. Look for report cards to be sent out later this week.

Thanks for your hard work and commitment to learning--even in these unique circumstances.

We are ALL IN For Learning!

FREE School Breakfast & Lunch

Nebo School District has received a fee waiver from the State Board of Education to provide a FREE NUTRITION PROGRAM for AGES 0-18

Each school day (M-F), students can pick up a Grab-n-Go breakfast and lunch between 9:00-11:30am from several area schools. Diamond Fork Junior High is one of these locations. Children from any school may pick up meals at any of the locations, but the children must be present to pick up meals. Both meals may be picked up at the same time.

School Announcements

If you haven't been on our School Website (dfjhs.nebo.edu) or Instagram page (@official_diamond_fork_jr) lately, you're missing out on our Administration's daily announcement videos. They're not very high quality, but they're something at least... We miss seeing our students each day, so we thought we could at least say hi each day!

At-Home Literacy with SORA App

We encourage our students to READ during this dismissal! One of the best ways to do that is using the SORA App (e-books, audiobooks, etc). It is super easy to use and has a great variety of titles and genres! I even started using it this past week and have LOVED it!

  • Simply download the app onto your smart device, or go to soraapp.com
  • Contact Mrs. Draper at nicole.draper@nebo.edu or 801-798-4052 if you need a specific title or need help with the Sora App!

Chromebook Checkout

This past week, as our Online Learning got off the ground, Diamond Fork Junior issued approximately 400 chromebooks to students in need of a device at home. We are so grateful to all of you willing to come check one out so you can continue your school work from home!

If you did not check out a Chromebook, but still need to do so, please contact the front office (801-798-4052) and let them know. Arrangements can be made to check them out still.
