Thank You

After three years of having the privilege to be the principal at Estacada High School, it is time for me to move on at the end of the school year. I’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities to be a part of an amazing community and school district that continually strives to meet the needs of all of our students as well as give opportunities for employees to grow as professionals. I’ve been blessed to work alongside many dedicated colleagues whose relationships I will always cherish. I've appreciated the relationships that I've been fortunate to develop with so many of our parents and guardians who value the opportunities that their students have at EHS. Most of all, I wish the best for our students. I will miss their energy, resourcefulness, and individual personalities that I witness first-hand every day in the hallways, classrooms, commons, and gym.

I will look back during my time as a Ranger with fond memories as we were able to accomplish so much in a short period of time.

  • Increased graduation rates from 76% to 85%, outpacing the state average.

  • Expanded Career Technical Education Opportunities for students to ensure they graduate with skills that are transferable to high paying careers in the trades.

  • Engaged teachers with research and training from The Center for High School Success focusing on 9th-grade transition to keep students on track for graduation.

  • Updated and modernized CTE facilities where students have access and training with industry-standard equipment.

  • Developed and moved to a standards-based gradebook.

  • Started an Expanded Options college credit program through Clackamas Community College where students take college classes free of charge while enrolled in high school.

  • Added a daily intervention schedule to meet students’ immediate needs so they may be successful in the classroom.

  • Implemented a credit recovery program that is meeting the needs of many historically struggling students.

  • Promoted inclusive practices for students to receive their education in the least restrictive environment.

  • Fostered relationships with local organizations that benefit our students: Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County Health Department, Clackamas County Juvenile Department, Clackamas Career Technical Education Consortium, Estacada Pastoral community, Estacada Chamber of Commerce, Todos Juntos Community Organization, The Center for High School Success.

As the district begins the process of searching for a new principal, I encourage you all to be a part of the process that I'm sure will be open and transparent to find someone that fits the unique needs of the community. Your voices should be heard and valued.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for accepting me as a part of the community. Its' been a pleasure serving all of you.

Best Wishes,

Bill Blevins

Principal, Estacada High School

EHS's Performing Arts Department presents Cafe Murder by Nathan Hartswick

EHS's Performing Arts Department presents Cafe Murder by Nathan Hartswick. In this comedic murder mystery, Rosemary Saint-John is a loud, annoying hypochondriac convinced she is allergic to water. When she disappears during her birthday party and is presumed murdered, the only objective witnesses in the restaurant are the audience members, who must cast their vote. A three-course meal and drinks will be provided by the EHS Culinary Department! Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased at

Performances are Friday & Saturday, Feb. 7 & 8 at 7pm in the EHS cafeteria!

Parents of Senior Students - The FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Currently, we have 20 students out of 103 who have completed their FAFSA form. That is 20% and I am confident more students than 20 are planning to pursue some sort of post-secondary education.

Completing FAFSA is the only avenue for students to receive Oregon Promise, Oregon Opportunity, and federal grants. Additionally, schools and vocational programs use FAFSA information to design financial aid offers for students.

Below is a resource about why should the FAFSA application be completed, and a link to the Federal Student Aid ID website===>

SAT Opportunity at EHS

There is another opportunity to take the SAT in school. It will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, starting promptly at 8:15am and ending at approximately 11:45am. The fee for this test is $49.50. There is a sign up in the front office. The last day to sign up is January 29th. Please see Mrs. Babikoff if you have any questions.

The next in-school SAT opportunity will be on October 14, 2020.

The school will also be offering free SAT test prep after school to prepare for the March SAT test. Please contact the counseling office for more information.

Attendance Matters

Did you know...

  • Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation.
  • Absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with a bully or facing some other potentially serious difficulty.
  • By 9th grade, regular and high attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th-grade test scores.
  • Missing 10 percent, or about 18 days, of the school year can drastically affect a student’s academic success.
  • Students can be chronically absent even if they only miss a day or two every few weeks.
  • Attendance is an important life skill that will help your child graduate from college and keep a job.
