How It Spreads
- Infexcted food handlers don't wash their hands after using the restroom and they touch food or equipment
- It comes from contaminated Water and Ready-To-Eat foods
- Common Foods: Raw foods, Contaminated Shellfish, cooked and uncooked foods thatan infected person has touched
Common Symptoms
- Mild Fever
- General Weakness
- Nausea
- Abdominal Pain
- Jaundice (Appears later)
Prevention Methods
- Exclude staff that are infected from the operation
- Exclude Staff that have jaundice
- Wash Hands
- Avoid bare hand-to-hand contact with ready-to-eat food
- Practice personal hygiene
- Purchase shellfish from approved suppliers
