Center Community Chat
February 6, 2022
Dear Center Community,
A shout of thanks and appreciation to our counseling staff, Ms. Lallas, Dr. Sollenberger, and psychology intern, Brittany Martinez. Sadly, the pandemic has resulted in a dramatic increase in the mental health needs of students everywhere. We are fortunate to have a dedicated, caring, and competent team at Center to work with our students and families to meet these needs. Please share a word of thanks with these special staff members this week.
Please read the section below carefully regarding changes to our COVID testing, response, and communication.
- Parking at Pick Up- Please do not block in any cars when you arrive for pick up. If there are no legal spots we ask that you remain in your vehicles until one opens. Our paraprofessionals leave at 3:15 and several spots will open once they leave.
Don't forget, Monday is a "Let Your Kind Shine" spirit day at Center. Kindness Rocks!!
Be well and have a good week.

If an individual has tested positive within the past 90 days, covid pool testing is not recommended.
As a result of the availability of home test distribution, the following changes will occur:
We will no longer contact trace. Nurse Rossman will focus on addressing symptomatic cases of COVID-19 and communicating with those directly impacted.
COVID letters will not be sent to families when a person in the classroom has tested positive for COVID. Staff and families can access the COVID-19 Dashboard to view positive cases in the building via the Superintendent’s update and CPS website.
The Test and Stay program will be discontinued effective Monday, February 7th.
Pool testing will continue on Wednesdays. All individuals in a positive pool will be retested to find the positive individual. That individual will follow the quarantine/isolation process. As a reminder, you can sign up for pool testing using this link at any time.
