Principal's Note
We will also have the obstacle course that students voted on in the money raised during Coins for Kids. I will be doing this for classes sometime in January. Our winning class, 5th grade, is busy designing the course. I have not been given a sneak preview yet, but am anxious to see what I will be doing.
In addition, our kick-off for One School-One Book will be at the beginning of February. A group of teachers is working hard to put together great learning activities for the book this year, and we are excited to get started reading!
Finally, we have our first band/orchestra concert of the year, the second parent-teacher conference night, the first PTO movie night, parent lunch week, a Math Family Night, our 1st-3rd grade music concert all before spring break which is the last week in March. We look forward to seeing many parents in the building at these events!
Morning Drop-off
Indoor or Outdoor Recess?
Students will be going outside unless air temperature or wind chill drop below 0.
**PLEASE NOTE** All students are expected to participate in our scheduled recesses. Students will only be allowed to stay in from outdoor recess with a signed, medical excuse from their doctor.
Inclement Weather
In the event that school is closed during the school day due to weather or emergency situation, your child will go home based on their normal end of the day procedure. For this reason, it is imperative that the contact information in your parent portal account be kept up-to-date. This insures that we have accurate information in the event of a weather or emergency situation. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

ANNUAL ART SHOW
This year, the Prairie View Annual Art Show will be on Monday, April 8th, from 4:30-7:00. Please mark your calendars! Get ready to be amazed because the theme this year will be Sweet Treats. Students are super excited about this theme and have been working very hard.
ARTSONIA UPDATE
If you missed ordering gifts for the holidays, purchases can always be made for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Easter, etc. The artsonia.com website has amazing gifts and keepsakes and any piece of artwork that your child has created can be used. Prairie View receives 20% of all purchases! Thanks to all of you who have already purchased keepsakes of your child’s artwork.
Be sure to ask your child if the piece in their Artsonia Gallery is actually theirs. Taking pictures of all of the artwork is a lot of work and sometimes pieces may get accidentally published under the wrong name. Please check before ordering.
Prairie View students are the ingredients to our recipe for success!
