Homecoming Week!!
October 16, 2023
We have completed the 1st Quarter and there are many accomplishments to celebrate! Now is the time to stop and assess where we are as a campus at reaching our goals (student achievement, student culture, and staff culture). We have multiple data sources to utilize to monitor our progress at this point in the school year. Using the continuous improvement model each leadership group will need to analyze their appropriate data and make necessary adjustments to accelerate the wanted progress.
- TeachBoost Ratings
- Dean’s List Data
- Student/Staff Attendance
- Teacher Achievement Rate (Grades)
- Unit Exams/Regional Quiz
Homecoming week is finally here!! This is a great opportunity to bring joy to the campus with the multiple activities happening this week. The energy from the students this week will be high this week each day as were gear up for the homecoming pep rally, homecoming game, house kickoff rally, and homecoming dance. Encourage all students to participate this week and help grow our school spirit. Let’s maximize this opportunity to stamp a positive impact on college prep’s persistence numbers.
Moving into Quarter 2, our Guideposts for Excellent Teaching (GET) rubric focus will be in the following areas:
- 1A: Content – Unit/Module Planning
- 1B: Content – Lesson Internalization/Planning
- 3: Ownership
In your upcoming check-ins with your manager, the feedback will be centered on strategies to move to proficient or advanced Teachboost ratings. Please review the evidence given in the rubric that aligns with the four ratings: pre-novice, novice, proficient, and advanced. I also recommend two other strategies to assist with your personal growth.
- Video parts of your lesson delivery, then do a self-assessment with the GET rubric.
- Ask your peers to visit your classroom and provide specifics in one area you are trying to grow.
Let’s have an AWESOME Homecoming week!!
