"A School of Excellence"

Principal's Message

Another Great Week in Tiger land! "In like a lion and out like a lamb." This is the best way to describe the usual weather during the month of March. Those of you with outside duty may want to be sure to monitor the weather daily to be sure that you are prepared for the changing weather. The students will be going outside more to "get that energy out."

This school year is quickly drawing to a close. The third quarter will end on March 17th. Mrs. Prescott will send out the grading timeline sometime this week. Please be sure that you have your transfer grades for your new students that you received this quarter.

We will announce our 4th quarter reading challenge this week. Thanks to everyone who assisted and supported our 3rd quarter challenge. The students had a blast at "Game Day" this past Friday. Ninety (90) students were rewarded for having read 6 books and scoring 80 or better on their AR test. Out of those ninety students, fifty two (52) read and tested on more than the required number of books for the challenge.

Please be sure that you are fostering academic accountability in your classroom. ALL students need to be able to understand and apply content associated with all work and assignments and be able to make connections. We will have PLC meetings this Thursday during planning. The focus of this week's PLCs will be on the next phase of instructional rounds, academic accountability, and we will continue with our study of the book Rigor Made Easy.

"Let us all remember that we are here to serve students by being great educators."

Have a great week and thanks for all that you do!

Higher Ed. Band Directors come to Spaulding

Mr. Jefferson invited Band Directors Steve and Penny Rogers from Coker College and Kelly Murphy Jokisch, Band Director from Francis Marion to work with our band students in preparation for the upcoming Concert Festival. This collaboration proved to be very beneficial as our students learned a great deal. Thanks to Mr. Jefferson for tapping into these resources to provide an additional level of expertise for our students.
