Change Agents Review Meeting
All the Change Agents associated with Blink were called in for the annual get-together event held on March 8th. The change agents were given a presentation about all the activities held during the past year. The Change Agents then shared their experience with Blink Foundation, their feedback and suggestions on how to improve Foundation activities. This marks the inauguration of many annual get-togethers to be held in Blink Foundation.
Vintage on Wheels
In commemoration with the centenary celebrations of the Department of History at Women’s Christian College a fund raising event for the treatment of women and children affected by cancer, was conducted. In the light of this celebration, a ‘Vintage Car and Bike Rally’ was also initiated in association with Madras Heritage and Motoring Trust on March 19th. Blink Foundation is the proud Social partner, and its Change Agents will be the volunteers. MRF is the Premium Associate Sponsor, and EXIDE is the Associate Cosponsor for the rally.
Presentation on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
Mrs. Lalitha, a Ph.D. scholar from Malaysia presented a session on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) for a group of 32 Change Agents. A research scholar turned activist, she works on equal sexual rights for the LGBT community. A contemporary narrative following the genesis of this issue allowed the students to relate to the social stigma surrounding rights of the LGBT community. After the presentation, Mrs. Lalitha along with Change Agents and Blink Team celebrated the festival of colors - Holi!
Aikiya Alayam Society General Body Meeting
The annual general body meeting of the society, with all the board members was held on March 23rd. Mr. Arun Fernandez, Founder of Blink Foundation represented Blink at this meet held at IDCR, Loyola College, presenting the activities and events of Blink along with targets aimed for the year 2016.
2016 Targets:
1. Design thinking worksheets ready for Change Class - 27 worksheets
2. Trainers available to train our Change Agents - 12
3. Change Agents who have been trained - 250
4. Schools where Change Classes have begun - 10
5. Colleges where Blink is established - 7
6. School students benefiting from Change Class programme - 4000
