So Many Activities, So Little Time

The National Association of Elementary School Principals reports that students who are involved in extracurricular activities, from chess club to cheerleading to chorus, tend to have higher self-esteem and stronger connections to school. But an overloaded schedule with too many activities can have the opposite effect, leaving kids and parents stressed out.

This month's Report to Parents, "So Many Activities, So Little Time," offers families strategies to support their child's extracurricular activities while ensuring they're manageable.

Outdoor Drop-off of forgotten Items

On Monday, October 21, 2019, we placed a lidded plastic tub outside Brookside’s front entrance. This tub is to be used as a receptacle for items your child has left at home, such as lunches, money, glasses, phones, books, sneakers, water bottles, homework, musical instruments, etc.

Please be sure that each item is clearly and fully tagged or labelled and that it includes your child’s name and the teacher’s name.

Just ring the bell and let us know you have left something for your child. We will arrange to have it removed for the child to retrieve in the office.
