STHS Weekly Reminders
Week of December 5
NEWS AND NOTES
B101 Choir Competition
Early in November, our Concert Choir class and Tri-M Service organization met up in the Chorus Room Studio to record a jazzy rendition of "O Christmas Tree" for the annual B101 Christmas Choir Competition. Senior Kaden Brunner arranged an original score for brass and reeds, senior Gabrielle Greene sang the opening solo, and paraprofessional Josh Williams oversaw students from the Music Production Club as audio engineer. Mr. Puntel and Mr. Gottesman are pleased to announce that the STHS submission was selected as one of three semi-finalists. Our school's victory was announced during the B101 morning show with Jenn Ryan and Bill Tafrow, shortly after 7:00am this morning. On December 7th, after the three finalists' submissions are played on the morning show, voting will open for the competition finalists, with a chance for our school to win $5,000 and a spot on stage with the Philly Pops Holiday program. Our recording will be played on B101 on December 7th at 11:35am and 2:35pm.
VOTING RULES:
Go to www.b101philly.com to vote for your school choir after 7:00am and before 9pm on Wednesday, December 7th. Voters are presented with options to vote for each competing school for that given day. There is no limit to the amount of votes that one individual may cast. The voting site is a bit of a chore to navigate, please reach out to andrew_puntel@sdst.org for more information on the voting process.
Winners will be announced the following morning during the B101.1 Morning Show with Jenn and Bill shortly after 7:00am.
