Ott's Outlook
May 2023
We are finishing the year strong as we cross into May. One of my favorite things about this final stretch is getting to celebrate our students' growth and accomplishments. Seeing how proud our students and their families are provides a joy that I cannot explain. It also makes me realize how truly grateful I am for the teachers and instructional staff who have supported them in the process.
Recently a friend’s company hosted a “bring your children to work day.” After she participated in the event with her two children, she was quick to tell me how she had a newfound respect for teachers and that they are grossly under-appreciated. Interlaced with her humor was an underlying truth that teachers are often unsung heroes. Our children spend more time with teachers once they enter kindergarten than they do with any other adult in their lives. Our teachers are responsible for developing and nurturing the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of our students. Behind every student's success big or small is a teacher who inspired them to reach their full potential.
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to see just how transformational our teachers are in the lives of our students and I am filled with gratitude for how they demonstrate this commitment with compassion and dedication. As we end this school year, please take the time to thank our teachers for making our student celebrations, success and milestones possible.
I would like to thank each of you for another fantastic year for Temple ISD. We are successful because our staff, students, families and community prioritize education and work together to ensure that our school district continues to exceed your expectations.
Sincerely,
Bobby Ott
