Let's Rodeo!
A Principal's Perspective
We are excited about Rodeo! Rodeo is the main event where our staff fully supports the efforts of the PTO by attending and volunteering. Rodeo is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with our GP families.
- Volunteering at the Rodeo?- Wear jeans the week of April 1st. Volunteering opportunities: judging cupcake wars on Friday at 4:00 in science lab, selling ticket for one hour - sign up in office workroom, getting pied, swimming in the dunking booth, judging BBQ and performing
- Want to be inspired and bring a smile to your face? Watch the rodeo video from last year.
Let's Rodeo Greens Prairie!
Be innovative - Design the possibilities!

News & Notes
- Lunch Lounge Wednesday: There are many benefits to a family eating together. As a school family, when we take the time to eat together it builds a positive school culture. We get to know each other outside of the classroom. Lunch Lounge Wednesday is a great way to visit, connect, de-stress and even laugh while eating lunch. This is a day to wear jeans AND a GP school shirt if you eat in the teacher's lounge on Lunch Lounge Wednesdays. Positive work environment, strong school family and jeans! Win-Win-Win!
- VIPS Luncheon: Our VIPS Luncheon is on Wednesday, April 17th, from 11:00 - 1:00 in the Science Lab. We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers and this is a great way to show them our appreciation. Please think about your volunteers and invite them to the luncheon. Who do you invite? Parents, grandparents, friends of GP, etc. that have volunteered in your classroom, set up the science lab, sorted papers at home, made class copes, put together Monday folders, helped with reading groups, chaperoned a field trip, room moms, etc... Please send out invitations to your volunteers. The invitations are in the front office on the back counter. Please include your name, lunch time, and additional notes to make the invite as personal as you wish.
- ProEthica Modules: The four ProEthica modules that we have focused on this year can be found in Schoology. Access Code: 7SC93-PKSJ2
- Shout Out: No water in the morning at GP? No problem! Thank you to Amy Eppes for providing the much needed coffee yesterday. I have to admit not having coffee was a thought in my head as I was heading to school. So what a wonderful surprise to have coffee from Starbucks!
Future Family Night
An email sent to me this morning from a parent: "Ms. Bairrington, I just wanted to reach out and say Thank You to you & ALL your staff for making us feel welcome at GPE! We moved from Bryan and [former school (school name omitted] doesn't compare to the environment that you all are providing for our kids. We are super impressed with everything we have seen this past week and look forward to staying a part of the school with Aubree beginning next year! "
What a successful night meeting our new GP families. The heartfelt comments from the parents above says it all when thinking about the purpose of Future Family Night. All of this based on first interactions with the staff at Future Family Night!
Thank you to all of the staff members that attended the night. I appreciate you giving up your personal time to welcome our new families. Just like the parents mentioned above, you confirmed that this truly is a special place for our students and families. Thank you!
CSISD Campus SUB Incentive
The district has outlined a campus sub incentive plan to hopefully decrease the sub demand across the district. Please see proposed plan below. The plan will begin in January
Each month, campuses will have an opportunity to earn $1,000 for the highest rate of staff attendance
Sick leave and district required activities are excluded
There will be a winner for both Elementary (PK-4) and Secondary (5-12) each month
Campus staff will have input on how to use the money - get creative!
Happy Birthday
This Week Birthdays:
We missed Melissa Shanahan's birthday which was March 27th. Happy Birthday Melissa!
