Student Health Protocols

Screen your child before school each day for the following symptoms:

  • Temperature of 100 degrees or higher
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle pain/fatigue
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea

Do not send your child to a district facility if he/she has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, exposed to COVID-19, or exhibits symptoms. Please call the school. This will ensure everyone in our AISD community stays safe. Your child can still be counted present by logging into Alief Learns at Home and participating virtually.

Exposure includes:

  • Living with someone who is confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • In contact with an individual that is confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • Currently waiting on COVID-19 test results

COVID-19 self reports are submitted by staff, in-person students, and Alief Learns at Home students. All COVID-19 positive self-reports are communicated in a general notification to staff and families. Any staff or students determined to have been directly exposed will receive an additional notification from the District and/or the school's administration.

All AISD facilities continue to operate within COVID-19 response guidelines aligned with the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The district will thoroughly clean, disinfect, and inspect all potentially exposed areas and equipment as well as common areas around the building.

Front Office Reminders

Visitor Information:

Safety is our priority! Prior to entering the school, the Alief ISD Health Screener must be completed and a mask must be worn appropriately covering the mouth and nose. You may complete the screener by clicking on the link below or scanning the QR code located on the front doors.

We are monitoring the number of visitors in the office, please note you may be asked to wait in the front (outside of the front office) until room is available. In addition, please do not enter the school if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibit symptoms. Please call the school.

Item Drop Offs:

This is a reminder that items are NOT allowed to be dropped off during the day. This includes lunches, water bottles, homework, jackets, birthday treats, etc. Students should bring their lunch with them or a lunch will be provided by the cafeteria. It would be a good idea to encourage your students to help you by making sure they have everything they need in the morning the night before.

2020-2021 Dress Code

Budewig Uniform Policy: Due to many families suffering an economic hardship the last thing I or anyone from Budewig wants is to put any further stress on our families’ pocketbooks. For the 2020-2021 school year we will not require our students to wear a school uniform. They must however still follow all district policies in regards to appropriate attire, hair, shoes, and accessories. Uniform policy can be found on page 22 in Alief Student Handbook.

Alief ISD takes pride in the appearance of our students. The district’s dress code is established to promote grooming and hygiene, to prevent disruption, and to minimize safety hazards. All students shall wear clothing that is neat, modest, and complies with the Alief ISD standards for dress and grooming as these are contributing factors to a positive learning environment.

Students who violate the school’s dress code will be afforded an opportunity to correct the problem at school. Repeated offenses of dress code violations may result in disciplinary actions or consequences in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

In order to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff when attending in-person instruction, students are required to wear a mask.
