Cedar Hill Girls Basketball Team to Face Skyline in Area Championship

The Cedar Hill High School Girls Basketball Team won its seventh consecutive bi-district championship. The Lady Longhorns (16-8) defeated Temple (16-8), 55-34, on Saturday in Corsicana, despite having just one day of practice in the week leading up to the game.

"I think the team that is able to be the most resilient will go the deepest in the playoffs," Cedar Hill head coach Nicole Collins said. " A lot of surprises are going to happen in the playoffs. We have to have the mentality of being able to adjust. We are getting better every game."

In the victory, Jadyn Atchison had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Portia Adams finished with nine points and nine rebounds, and Carolynn Washington had 10 points and three rebounds.

Cedar Hill, ranked 23rd in Class 6A, will look to win its seventh consecutive Area Championship when it faces Dallas Skyline (12-12) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Berkner High School in Richardson.
