St. Stan STAR

May 11 , 2016

Welcome to the last edition of the ST. STAN STAR for this academic year! It has been a year to celebrate the skills, talents, and accomplishments of our students. Thank you, parents, for your support of the school. It was during the sacrament of Baptism that a promise was made to raise your child in the faith. I hope you have found St. Stanislaus School a willing partner in this most important task.

Please check the school’s website over the summer for calendar items and other news regarding the school year. The 2016-2017 school calendar is being sent as an attachment with this STAR.

Good luck to the many students who will be attending the national archery competition this week. Safe travels to the many families who will be on the road.

On Friday, May 13, at 8:45, the parish has invited the school to attend the blessing and dedication of the playground and memorials that have been installed this year. What a great honor this is for our parish and school community.

Graduation Mass is scheduled for Monday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. It will include mass, a presentation of awards and diplomas. A reception in the gym follows after the graduation ceremony. All are invited to attend. This year 19 students are graduating from 8th grade; 18 will continue at Helias Catholic School and 1 will continue at Blair Oaks. Congratulations to all these students and their families. You will find a list of graduates in the STAR today.

Field Day is schedule for Wed. May 18th. There is no mass that day and students are allowed to dress down. Thank you, Home and School, for organizing this fun event to celebrate the conclusion of our school year.

The last day of school is Thursday, May 19. Students are expected to come in uniform. Mass will be celebrated and the teachers and staff members who are leaving after this school year will be recognized for their service. An Awards Assembly will follow in the gym. Homeroom teachers will be distributing the report cards in the gym after the Awards Assembly.

May God continue to bless us in this last week of school!

Year Book

Thank you for your patience concerning the 2014-2015 yearbook. Our goal is to also have this yearbook ready for pick up along with the 2015-2016 yearbook at the beginning of next school year. A change in publishing companies has taken place so we are confident that this will not happen again.

Dear St. Stanislaus Family,

Before I "retire", I wanted to thank you for the gift of the past 5 years. It has been a true honor and privilege to return to St. Stanislaus School after more than 30 years away. I always knew that God was a part of this opportunity because of the way it came about. I prayed that I could be a blessing to one of the children or families that would be in my care. As God so often does, He took my desire to serve and turned it around! Instead, He blessed ME with YOU!

So, thank you, amazing teachers, Mrs. Heberlie, and staff! Thank you, for caring and the supportive parents and grandparents! Thank you to EACH of my students who have helped me grow! Thank you, Father Medina, for allowing me to continue giving from my passion for teaching. And, thank You God, for these past 5 years!

May each of you continue to know His love and joy in all that you do!

Love and prayers, Ms. Chris Lock
