8th Grade Update
- The final School Choice Fair is TOMORROW - Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Conard High School. This is a great opportunity to explore all of the options you have for next year.
- All lottery applications (for students wanting to attend any magnet school other then the Academy High School next year) must be submitted by February 28. Visit choiceeducation.org to apply.
Application Process: Sibling Preference
· Sibling Preference is only available for siblings of currently enrolled students in a CREC Magnet School for the 2016-2017 school year.
· Siblings are defined as students living in the same household with a common biological parent, legal guardian or foster family.
· Sibling preference is offered to siblings of a currently enrolled student(s) in a CREC magnet school who is applying to the same school attended by the current CREC student. Please note that Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School and Ana Grace Academy of the Arts Elementary are considered the same school as Arts Middle School and sibling applicants to either school do qualify for sibling preference provided all other eligibility requirements are met.
· The current student must continue to attend that school in the 2017-2018 school year.
· Applicants must select the current student’s school as first (1st) choice on the RSCO lottery application to be considered for the sibling preference.
· Applicants must enter the name, grade and school of the current sibling on the RSCO lottery application.
· CREC will verify sibling information for accuracy
· Sibling preference is not a guarantee, and is based on available seats.
College Prep
Ask your child about college prep. Is he/she giving great effort? Is she/he maximizing the time?
