Welcome to PK 4.1
Beginning of the year
Welcome to PK4.1
Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to meet all of you during the first week of school! We have an amazing group of students. This year you will see your child growing in many social emotional and academic aspects. We will work together to see them smiling, playing, having fun, making friends, expressing themselves, exploring and learning. It is really important that you help us in this process by:
- Sharing our PK newsletter with them
- Being a mystery Reader
- Sharing activities that are related to their home life: dancing/cooking/sports
- Doing our fun "homework" calendar and sharing photos with the teachers and classmates.
- Celebrating their learning
We will start our month by introducing The Beginning of the Year study unit and Conscious Discipline Strategies.
"Children come to school asking "Am I safe?", "Am I loved?", or, "What can I learn?". Effective schools create cultures that answer the first two questions in the affirmative, and then provide the academic and social-emotional skills necessary for optimal growth."
Bailey, Becky Conscious Discipline

School Dismissal
If your child is changing the way he/she leaves the school, please send me an email to dbernal@isp.edu.pa, CC our teaching assistant, Miss Sharon Torrijos at storrijos@isp.edu.pa and Elementary school secretaries to the following e-mail address elementaryoffice@isp.edu.pa
Please try to send the email the day before or really early in the morning.
If you are on your way to school to pick up your child and didn’t get a chance of letting me know you can call the Elementary office: 293-3000 and Ms. Aisha will let me know, and that way your child will be waiting in the car pick up area.
Spare clothes
Children should have a set of spare clothes in school. This should include:

If possible, some footwear, in case their shoes get wet. “Crocs” or other plastic shoes are acceptable and can be worn during water play.
We do appreciate clothes that enable us to change your child quickly and easily.
Please send all items labeled in a large plastic bag.
Rest time
We have naptime in Pk4 please send us a SMALL pillow and a blanket for your child. We do not take naps on Wednesdays and we send them back on Fridays so you can wash it and send it back.

We will be sending the newsletter on Fridays; however if there is any inconvenience, it will be send out throughout the weekend.
