Crusader Chronicle
December 2022
Dear Crusader Families,
December is a very busy month!
We are very blessed to have so many Crusader Shout-Outs in this newsletter. One of the Crusader Shout-Outs is to welcome a new Math Specialist to our team as the previous Math Specialist had some health issues arise. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Krumholtz to the Crusader community! Additional information about Mrs. Krumholtz can be found below.
There is a great deal of information regarding upcoming events and Advent resources. Please take time to read through all of the information.
As always, I appreciate the constant support and dedication to the school.
I pray everyone has a very blessed and meaningful Advent.
Gratefully,
Sarah Bitzer
Principal
CRUSADER SHOUT-OUTS
Welcome Mrs. Krumholtz- Math Specialist!
Hi! My name is Stephanie Krumholtz. I come to you from Waynesville Middle School where I have 35.5 years of experience teaching math at grade levels from 6th to 12th grade. These years have taught me how to anticipate questions and dispel misconceptions before they occur. Through my students, I have learned multiple strategies to approach problems that satisfy brains which operate in different ways. I like to make math fun and challenging but also understand that it can be a struggle.
I graduated from Miami University in 1986 with a BS in Mathematics but I am a HUGE Buckeye fan so I am really feeling the loss from Saturday's game against Michigan. I have two daughters in college. Lucy is attending Miami U studying pre-med and Hannah is attending Columbia College in Chicago studying fashion design and graphic arts. I coached both volleyball and track while teaching in Waynesville and also followed my girls' sports: soccer, volleyball, basketball, swim, and track. I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and adventures of any sort.
I look forward to working with the staff and students at St. Francis De Sales.
Congratulations to the November Virtue Award students!

Staff + Father Christmas Gift Fund

Please consider giving a cash donation to the fund. Your contributions will be presented to each staff member, Fr. Craig, and Fr. Bob, in a Christmas card and will include the name of each participating family:
In appreciation for all you do for our children throughout the year,
Merry Christmas!

ADVENT RESOURCES
PJ Ehling
Director of Faith Formation
pehling@stfrancisdesales-lebanon.orgThe Christmas tree, located in the Church gathering space, has ornaments that display the most needed items for ENLC’s Women’s Center Boutiques.
Women’s Center services include confidential consultation, pregnancy confirmation and verification, limited ultrasound, education, and material assistance. Of the six women’s Centers in the greater Dayton and Cincinnati Area, one is located here in Lebanon, serving moms, dads and children in our local community. Your Giving Tree donation specifically stocks the baby boutique. Clients receive incentives through an “Earn While You Learn” educational program. Families are able to gain education and knowledge while acquiring much needed items for their babies and young children.
Your support for this ministry allows us to continue saving babies and changing lives. Thank you!

Basketball Volunteer Opportunities
St Francis de Sales Basketball will be full swing this weekend with several GCCYS Boys & Girls "home" games being played up at the Lebanon District Event Center (a.k.a. the old Lebanon Jr High School gym).
As with previous years, we need volunteers to help fill positions at each game: gate fees, scoreboard operator, and official scorebook.
Below is a brief description of the positions:
Gate fees: In order to partially offset the rental & custodial fees, we collect gate fees from everyone except immediate SFDS family members. This can be filled by Jr High/High School students or parents needing volunteer/service hours. Please be there ~30 mins before game time to relieve the previous volunteer.
Scoreboard operator: An adult or High School student familiar with basketball would be preferred. No coaching permitted from the scoring desk.
Official scorebook: Must be an adult (no exceptions).
Please sign up in advance of the game so the coaches do not have to "recruit" immediately prior to the game and can focus on warm-ups & pre-game prep.
The link to sign up is listed below. Thank you in advance for your help and support!
