Dublin Jerome High School
Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
Nov. 4, 2022
A message from me...
We had a productive week here at Jerome! We are four weeks in to the 2nd quarter and students and staff have been working hard. I visited a number of classrooms this week and I have been so impressed by the engagement in the learning occurring.
Our focus is being the best versions of ourselves. We want to get a little bit better each day, and when things aren't going well, we want to look for a win. Getting a win helps build a positive mindset and ability to win the next moment.
One of the best things about my job is watching our students demonstrate resilience and desire to grow. That is due to the supportive environment that starts with you at home.
Have a great weekend and don't forget to "fall back!"
Ohio Graduation Plans
On Thursday November 10th, all DC S high school students will participate in a lesson focused on graduation requirements in their 5th period class (or 5th and 6th at the Emerald Campus). During this time, students will review the new graduation requirements and the pathway options to earning a high school diploma.
To earn a Dublin City Schools high school diploma, students are required to do three things:
Earn 21 credits
Meet the competency requirements set by ODE
Demonstrate readiness by earning two graduation seals
During this lesson, students will complete their Ohio Graduation Plan in SchooLinks. Schoolinks is our district’s college and career readiness platform for students in grades 6-12. Parents will receive access to SchooLinks over the next few weeks to review their child’s graduation plan. Students are able to update their Ohio Graduation Plan, specifically their graduation seal interest, at any time. Detailed information about seals can be found here. Students who are absent during this period will receive this information through SchooLinks. Additional information about graduation requirements can be found here.

- 3rd Offense: Detention and further infractions will result in escalation of discipline.
- Tardies to school reset every quarter.
Construction Update (11.4.22)
- Interior building renovations will begin Winter Break. This will not disrupt the school day but there will be noticeable changes. This include flooring upgrades in many common spaces.

- A-side addition has begun exterior insulation.
SEMESTER 1 EXAMS (Dec. 13-16)
Below is the link to our First Semester Exam Schedule for Dec. 13-16. Semester Exam account for 10% of the overall grade for students for the semester. These are important summative assessments that allow students to demonstrate learning.
Students are expected to take their exam during the scheduled times. Students are not permitted to move exams without prior administrative approval. (Please see pg. 17 of Student Handbook for specific details.)
Families that have planned to leave early for a trip must contact the Attendance Office to complete a pre-arranged absence form prior to exam week. Any student missing an exam will complete their exams when they return. All exams that need to be rescheduled will need prior administrative approval.
Please contact the appropriate administrator, school counselor or attendance if you have specific questions. We have asked teachers that receive emails from families forward to attendance. This process ensures that all parties are communicated with to make appropriate changes.
