PSAT/NMSQT - Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Wednesday, October 16th is regular attendance day for Freshmen, Sophomores and Seniors.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, we will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT to all Juniors. The PSAT/NMSQT measures readiness for college, gives access to scholarships (such as National Merit), and provides practice for the SAT. This is the only day we will be administering the test. Juniors will be excused from classes periods 1 - 6. Study guides and practice tests were handed out in all Junior English classes to help students prepare.
Please encourage your student to get a good night's sleep the night before the test and have a healthy breakfast the day of the test.
Make sure, if they do not take the bus, they leave plenty of time to get to school on time because they will not be admitted into testing rooms after the test begins.

BHS Counseling Department will be offering a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Completion Workshop for families needing assistance. Representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and Harper College will be in the BHS CRC on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM to assist with the process. This event is by appointment only and is almost full. To schedule an appointment or be added to the waitlist, please contact Carrie Galvan.

If you are unable to get an appointment time at BHS, Harper College offers drop-in FAFSA assistance and will be hosting a number of FAFSA Completion Workshops. These services are available to all BHS seniors, even if the student does not plan to attend Harper. More information here.
