Lost and Found
We have a collection of items which have been collected from the playground in our lost and found area. If your student is missing a jacket, sweater, water bottle, ball, etc., as you come to your student(s) parent-teacher conference, please check out the garments hanging on the rack. This is located just inside the main entrance and outside the main office.
Next Tuesday (December 13) and Wednesday (December 14), we will transport the lost and found garment rack to the area just outside the dismissal doorway during the end of the day school dismissal. It will only remain there until 3:40 PM. Hopefully, this will provide you with an easier way of accessing the lost and found.
All items remaining in the collection as of 4 PM December 15th will be packed up and donated. Thank you.
Time to Bundle Up!
The Winter Wonderland is heading our way and as the weather is changing, it is the desire of the school that students get outside as much as possible. Please visit our FAQs on our website (or click here) for more information about outside and inside recesses.
Early in the morning, if the temperatures are 27° F or below (taking into account the windchill factor), the front doors will open at 7:30 AM. Students who have not had breakfast at home will head to the cafeteria. All students in Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 2 will go to the art room. Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 will go to the gym. At 7:40 the hallways will open and teachers will then begin to welcome their students at their classroom.
Parents, please remember as the temperatures and weather changes, the students become cold easily. Gloves, mittens, warm shoes and coats are needed to keep their bodies warm and protected from the cold and elements. Be sure to write your student's name on the inside of each of the items. Should they be found they can be returned to your child. Thank you.
Morning Drop Off and Arrival in the Front of the School
As you know, we continue to refine our morning drop off procedure and plan for Grades K-5. The lane to the right is reserved for the quick 15-second drop off ("Kiss and Go"). If you are in the 15-second lane, please be patient and wait until you directed by a staff member to move forward to one of the spaces noted by the safety cones numbered 1-5 before your student exits the car on the right side of your vehicle. The process is really working great and very, very smoothly.
The other coned area directing traffic to the left area of our parking lot is for the "Hug and Go" (more than 15-seconds or you wish to exit the car) or our Pre-K students. Please patiently and courteously proceed carefully to an open parking spot before exiting the car for the safety of everyone.
Remember: The speed limit is no more than 5 mph on our campus.
A HUGE thank you to all of you who are following this procedure in the morning. We will continue to modify the plan and keep you informed as improvements are made.
