A note from Kim
Medical Lake and Fairchild Air Force Base have collectively come together to provide outstanding support for our district so we can ensure a quality education for all of our students.
It is from the combined communities foundation that our Medical Lake Promise, shared below, was developed. A commitment that our school board and I are making as we work to fulfill these promises includes adding more opportunities for both student and parent voices through the development of advisory groups. We know the best way to understand the needs of our system is to ask and listen to those experiencing it firsthand.
Additionally, we will be communicating regularly through monthly district-wide newsletters to share our programs and upcoming events. This month we are highlighting the Summer Groups we are hosting at our Wellness Center as well as some of the programs the Medical Lake City Parks and Recreation and the Library are offering for our community.
We are looking forward to meeting you soon at our meet and greets or just out and about around the community, sharing our plans and the great things happening at MLSD.
Hope you are having a great summer!

Did you know?
We are fiscally sound and currently have 14% ($4 million) fund balance in reserves.
We promote high-quality programs- STEM K-12, Mental health support for students, families, staff, and the community, strong extracurriculars (Music, Athletics, FFA, Robotics, Air Force Jr. ROTC) with 75% of high school students participating in Spring 2023.
Medical Lake High School has had a 93% or greater graduation rate consistently for over 10 years.
We have maintained strong academic results even through the pandemic:
2022-23 preliminary state testing results show the majority of grade levels scoring above the state average in math, several significantly above (>20%)
2022-23 preliminary ELA results also show most grade levels scoring above the state average
Our relationship with families and members of Fairchild Air Force Base is excellent with many families living off base choosing to attend Medical Lake Schools with over 150 Choice students from area districts.
We want to thank our outstanding staff, families, and school board for their hard work and dedication to make these things happen for Every Student, Every Day!
