Dear Erickson Families,


I hope everyone had a restful fall break and enjoyed time with family and friends. Yesterday 4th-5th grade students enjoyed a Westfield Band Assembly. The band played holiday music to kick off the month of December. It was so nice to have live music back at Erickson!


Pizza Friday sign-up starts TODAY for the months of January & February: Hot Lunch Sign-Up. Please complete your order by December 17th (no exceptions) if you would like your child to have hot lunch in January & February on Fridays. A flyer is also being sent home with sign-up information.


The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Reading and Math Assessment for grades 1-5 will occur sometime between December 6-16th. Teachers will share specific testing days and times. Results will be shared with families in January. Teachers use the results of the assessments to review curricular practices and develop lessons and learning paths for students.

District Virtual Backpack: is filled with flyers and information from various organizations located throughout Bloomingdale. Please click on the backpack if you are interested in activities or information from outside organizations.

Students in grades 2-5 will have an opportunity to join Lunch Book Club during the month of January. Book Club meets on Wednesdays at lunch in January. Click on the links for more information about the Lunch Book Club. Flyers went home with students earlier this week.

Mitten Tree

Our annual Mitten Tree will be in the lobby starting November 22. Please donate hats, mittens, gloves and scarves. Please consider giving to our tree which will help local families within our DuPage County community.

Hot Lunch: The Hot Lunch order form is now open! All orders must be submitted by December 17th... No Exceptions! A flyer was also sent home with students today.


Spirit Wear Holiday Sale: Erickson Spirit wear is now available for purchase. The sale will close on December 9th to make sure all items are delivered to the school before the Holidays: Spirit Wear Order Form


Dine Out Event at Noodles and Company: December 7th from 4-8pm


Holiday Gift Shop: The PTO will be hosting the Holiday Gift Shop for students on Thursday 12/9 from 6-8pm with families at Erickson and Friday 12/10 during school hours. The Holiday Gift Shop is an opportunity for students to shop for holiday gifts for family and friends. Shopping envelopes will be sent home with students today.

Winter Weather: Please Dress for the Weather

Winter Weather: Please Dress for the Weather

Winter Weather: Erickson students have outdoor line-up and spend recess outside when the temperature, including WIND CHILL, is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Students may play in the snow during recess if they are properly dressed in winter gear, which includes a winter jacket, snow pants, hat, gloves, and snow boots.

Character Counts Pillar Shirts

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.
