Mountain View Back to School Update

Schedule release
A reminder that student schedules will be released via Genesis on Friday, August 25. In preparation, please be advised of the following:
- The Parent Portal will open at 8:00 a.m. on the 25th. In order to view your child's schedule, you will need to complete several forms and documents (listed below), which can be found under the "Student Data" tab. Documents will require electronic signatures, while forms will require you to select the most appropriate items for your child.

Attendance Policy
- All forms, documents, and contact information updates must be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8.
- If your child is missing a world language and/or related arts courses, please contact toth@mendhamboroschools.org.
- Schedules and locker assignments are still being adjusted and are subject to change. Students will be provided with updated schedules on the first day of school.
Welcome new staff!
- Mr. Timothy Zangara, 8th grade Social Studies
Mr. Zangara is a recent graduate of Rutgers University, where he completed a Masters degree in Social Studies education. As the former President and Secretary of Rutgers Club Lacrosse, Mr. Zangara looks forward to coaching the Mountain View boys' team.
- Mr. Jonathon Dragon, 7th grade Social Studies
Mr. Dragon graduated William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He recently completed his Masters at Drew University, where he earned teaching certifications in Social Studies and Special Education. During his time at Drew, Mr. Dragon was published in Teaching Social Studies and was recognized as a NJ Distinguished Clinical Intern. Mr. Dragon will advise the Yearbook club and coach the Mountain View baseball team.
- Ms. Kristen Huang, 7th grade Mathematics
Ms. Huang recently graduated Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Psychology and a Masters of Education. She completed her teaching internship at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison, where she taught Honors Pre-Calculus and Geometry. Ms. Huang will serve as co-advisor of the Math League club.
- Mrs. Erin Clark, 7th grade Science
Mrs. Clark's educational career dates back to 1996, where she served as a Biology teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer High School in New York. From 2000-2009, she taught at Glen Ridge High School, where she served as the Science Department Program Leader. Most recently, she taught 6th and 8th grade Science teacher at Valleyview Middle School in Denville. Mrs. Clark will serve as the 7th grade Team Leader.
- Mr. Bradley McMurray, 5-8 Music (Chorus, Orchestra)
Mr. McMurray is a graduate of Eastman School of Music. Since his graduation in 2015, he has completed a long-term position at Kinnelon Public Schools. Mr. McMurray will serve as the Talent Show coordinator.
- Ms. Alexandra Anthony, 8th grade Language Arts
Ms. Anthony graduated Rowan University in December of 2016, after which she served as a long-term substitute at Delsa Regional High School in Franklinville.
- Ms. Lyndsay Magenheimer, 5-8 Physical Education/Health
Ms. Magenheimer graduated Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in Movement in Sports Studies. Since 2011, Ms. Magenheimer has served as a Health/Physical Education teacher and coach at Far Hills Country Day School in Far Hills, New Jersey. She will serve as the Athletic Director and coach boys' soccer and girls' lacrosse.
- Ms. Kristin Stiner, 7th grade Language Arts
Ms. Stiner is a graduate of Rutgers University, where she completed her Masters of Education Degree. She has served as a leave replacement in Harding, Basking Ridge, and most recently, Brooklawn Middle School in Parsippany.
First day of school reminders
- Drop-off for 5th and 6th grade students takes place in the back circle, 7th and 8th grade in the front. Students will remain outside (5/6: Art room doors, 7/8: 100 corridor doors) until the 8:25 bell. Home base begins promptly at 8:30. Note that pick-up is not permitted in the front circle at dismissal. For a detailed description of drop-off/pick-up procedures, please click here.
- Students will be given time to set up their lockers on September 5 (locker set up will not take place during the 5th grade Open House). A reminder that students are not permitted to decorate the outside of their locker. In addition, students may not store items in their lockers that prevent the door from completely closing.
- Students should bring as many of their school supplies as possible on September 5; it is suggested that students have all of the necessary supplies in school by Friday, September 8. Click here to access supply lists.
- All students will attend a meeting with Administration during the first week of school, which will include a review of important policies and expectations.
- A reminder that sports physical and Tdap/Meningococcal (6th grade) forms are due on September 5. For more information, click here. Timely submission of the sports physical form is critical in order for students to be cleared to participate in tryouts.
