Welcome Lacy Rodriguez, Our New Administrative Assistant:

As you know, this week is Gianni's last week before her transfer to Cienega High School. We will miss her terribly but are super excited for her and her new opportunity.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Lacy Rodriguez as our new administrative assistant. Here's a bit more info about her:

"I'm married with four awesome kids, two boys and two girls whom we recently adopted. I have three degrees to include an Associate's in Paralegal Studies, a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice Administration, and a Master's in Business Administration. We live right here in Vail in the Rancho Del Lago neighborhood. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my children and husband, crafting, baking, and reading."

This week Gianni is training Lacy and we are in the process of transferring all communications regarding the school to her. Please begin any communication regarding absences, pick-ups, etc. to Lacy (not Gianni) starting now. Lacy's email address is

rodriguezla@vailschooldistrict.org Please note that it’s the first two letters of her first name, it will get sent to someone else if you you just put an ‘L'

Please stop by the office and say, "See you soon!" to Gianni and "Hello!" to Lacy.

LAST Prospective Family Info Meeting:

This Thursday, January 11th at 6:00 PM, will be our LAST prospective family info meeting (for NEW families) before the lottery. If you know a family that would be a good fit for our school and they are in the Vail School District, please spread the word. Attendance at one of these meetings is MANDATORY to be included in the lottery for NEW families.

8th Grade Backpacking Trip Information Night - January 18, 2018, 6 PM at the Upper School.

Parents and 8th graders, along with interested 7th grade parents and students, are invited and encouraged to attend an informational session presented by Ironwood Tree Experience (ITE). ITE facilitates our backpacking trip each year. At this informational meeting you will have the opportunity to meet ITE staff, learn about the location where we will be backpacking, see equipment that your student will use and ask any questions you may have. If there is space available, some 7th graders may be able to participate. 7th grade participants will be selected based on available space and strong work habits.
