Lunch with a Distinction at DMS

Dahlstrom Middle School's staff enjoyed a hamburger and hot dog lunch celebration, courtesy of the Mustang PTA and Hays CISD Deputy Academic Officer Jesus Gomez. The fun was generated by the campus being recognized with an "A" Rating and receiving its first Academic Distinction. Mr. Gomez memorably brought out an industrial-sized barbecue pit and grilled for the entire staff, providing the fuel for smiles, laughter, and true HCISD spirit!

DMS Hosts Hays CISD Secondary Admin for Instructional Rounds

On Wednesday, October 9th, DMS hosted secondary administrators from across the district. The purpose of the instructional rounds is for principals to collaborate in order to improve student achievement. A key component of the instructional rounds is to visit classrooms to see best practices in action. The secondary admin team was able to witness first hand all the awesomeness that takes place in DMS classrooms that led to an A rating. During the first quarter DMS, has focused on student communication and teachers providing students feedback. As you can see in the pictures below, there is plenty of evidence of both.
