What are PCCR's?
Plan for College & Career Readiness: We will be presenting in classrooms to go over how high school is different, credits, grade point average and options for beyond high school.
8th Grade Parent/Guardian Expectation: We will help navigate the high school plan with your individual student and their goals to customize their pathway. We will be available to meet with you during P/T Conferences, during the school day and a few evening zoom sessions with dates to come.
What will YOU do differently this year? The best part of starting a new school year is that it is a NEW year! This year—each new day—is your opportunity to consider the helpful, productive, encouraging, and kind things that have made a positive difference—and do more of those things! Consider the lessons learned, but don't focus too much on what didn't go well in the past. You may have struggled a bit in your classes or friendships, but that does not mean you will continue to do so. As Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't—you're right."
| Tips for Success in Middle SchoolThe Middle School years are full of change for students—and families. These years are a critical time for development and students need all the help they can get to establish good academic and social habits. Move this World is a social, emotional program that all students go through daily during 2nd period to provide tools to help them succeed. | Hang in There! I won't lie to you—there will be times this year that you feel like you are losing your footing, literally and figuratively! When you begin to compare yourself with your peers, you may feel as if you fall short in comparison. Here's the thing—there will always be someone who is more "er"—smarter, prettier, funnier, faster, etc. The key is to not get caught in the comparison trap! Be grateful for the gifts and talents you have, celebrate those in others—be yourself! |
