What's Happening in PBS?
Week of 2/2-2/6
For this week in PBS, we are continuing our discussion of sickle cell anemia. On Monday we are going to exchange the patient sickle cell diaries that we didn't get to last week. Then have our recap discussion to make sure they pulled out all the content that they needed from our sickle cell basics assignments.
Then on Tuesday we are diving more into the genetic cause of sickle cell anemia. We will be talking about the central dogma of biology which is where the cell goes from DNA, to RNA to protein. So we will spend the rest of the week going through the process of transcription and translation and how it relates to sickle cell anemia.
Looking forward, there will probably be a quiz over sickle cell and the central dogma at the end of next week (roughly around the 12th).
As for HOSA - remember to check out the google doc for upcoming events found here! http://bit.ly/1BjpKa7
