Patterson Elementary
Parent Blast - January 29 , 2018
Upcoming Events
We have reached the halfway point of the 2017-2018 school year and our first report card. Report cards will be coming home next Thursday, February 8th. We have a short week as Thursday and Friday are reserved for teacher prep and report card completion.
Last Friday students and staff learned about our Pennies for Patients campaign from two of our awesome sixth graders. These ladies are passionate about helping others and have set up our campaign along with fun spirit days, contests and prizes and brought a representative to Patterson last week to kick off our event. Each class will be collecting change (participation is optional) to help Pennies for Patients. Our school-wide goal is $2500 and if this goal is met, I will be taking a few pies in the face at our next spirit assembly - it's for a good cause! Please look for announcements throughout this campaign on our homepage in the Twitter feed (at the bottom).
We also received our $1,000 check for winning the first attendance competition of the school year. We will be using some of these funds to bring some guests to an assembly in March and some in support of the annual Reading Race. Currently we are in first place for the second round- keep up the great work students and families!
Upcoming Events:
- Thurs-Friday, February 1-2: No School Teacher Prep and Grade Prep
- Mon-Friday, February 5-9: Pennies for Patients Spirit Week
- Tuesday, February 6: Booster Club Meeting, 5:30 in the library
- Boxtop Contest- February 20-27th (more details coming soon, start saving!)
We would also like to ask your child/children's help in providing our staff with feedback via our student mid-year survey. Younger children can have parents ask questions and assist in filling this out. As promised, here is our parent mid-year survey as well. Thank you in advance for helping us collect this valuable feedback. As an added incentive, students can stop by my office to pick up a Panther prize for completing the survey.
Currently we have collected 424 lbs. of plastic for our TREX Recycling Challenge. Let's keep the momentum going!
Have an wonderful week!
