Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-
This was a week of highs and lows… With the tragedy in Texas it creates another hole in our hearts and emotions that are difficult to understand and work through. As a school leader, it is unfortunately the type of event I think about often…
When we hear about these incidents we know staff and students will react in many different ways. Research over many years has shown that a consistent routine that students are comfortable and familiar with is often the best course of action. That is our default response in many situations. At the same time we remain adaptable to individual student and staff needs. The day after the Texas tragedy some students planned a walkout to demonstrate their support for the community of Uvalde. So they did it. 21 minutes--standing in silence out in front of our school. They were great. It was peaceful, and if this simple act helps give our students an outlet to deal with their emotions, I’m ok with it. When I think about all our teens have been through over recent years, it has caused me to think a little differently about the big picture and what is most important in the end.
Our Mission at Ridgeline is to foster healthy and supportive relationships. Belong. Inspire. Grow. Through this lens we develop a culture of trust. When our students feel they belong and this is their “House”,--we take care of it together.
We were able to have some very positive moments during the week as well. We sent quite a few athletes off to state, and are really proud of how much they’ve accomplished!
Speaking of amazing athletic prowess…. The RIDGELINE STAFF VS STUDENT Inaugural EPIC softball game! The staff….truly a showcase of talent, fitness, and skill! Now our kids, they are young and in shape and have great skills. But…….the staff used their veteran savvy, instincts, experience, and just enough talent to claim VICTORY over the students! Now all the talk is they want to play us in football, basketball, and soccer…. Get Real! How about frisbee golf?!
Talk about a blast! We had so much fun, and the fan support from parents, students, and staff was incredible! We had awesome food trucks, drinks, and shaved ice! A HUGE thank you to Softball Coach Alyssa Rasmussen for dreaming up this wild plan and pulling it off!
Encourage your son or daughter to come to the Spring Formal! No date necessary, just come and have fun with your friends!
We’re grateful for the support from our Ridgeline Community!
Make it a great Memorial Day Weekend, see you back on Tuesday! --Mr. Hardt

Boys Tennis
Junior Tyler Baker finished 3rd in Regionals and qualified for State Tennis this weekend in Richland.
Boys Golf Team
Your Ridgeline Boys Golf team played in a very competitive field at State this week! Team ended up placing tied for 11th, which unfortunately didn’t make the cut. Sophomore Griffin Thorpe did make the cut as an individual and placed T32 shooting 75-80. Great season boys!
WIAA 3A State Golf Tournament
Carolyn Rose made a great first appearance as a freshman at the WIAA 3A state golf tournament played at Meadowwood Golf Course. She went out the first day and fired 89 to make the cut to play the second day. She fired 89 on the second day as well for a combined total of 178 placing her 54th in the state as an individual. What a great way to end the season. Excited to see what these next three years hold for her.

RHS Graphic Arts 2 students
On Wednesday, the Graphic Arts 2 students had the privilege of learning from one of Spokane’s most well-known and experienced graphic design agency owners, CK Anderson, of Helveticka. He wowed us with his virtual tour of their work space as well as talking us through the design process for many of his agency’s grand scale experiential design projects such as The Podium, the MAC exhibit on modern architecture in Spokane, and The Hive, the brand new library building located on E. Sprague. They also do work on developing brand identity for companies with logo design, and various print design work along with the experiential 3D design. Our RHS Graphic Arts 2 students and Mrs. Demarest send out a HUGE THANK YOU to CK Anderson for the time he spent with us, and for putting together such a dynamic presentation. If you want to see more information about Helveticka please check out their web site. https://helveticka.com/

Summer School Registration
From the Attendance Desk
Reminder- School starts at 7:45am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. School starts at 8:15am on Thursday. We are starting to see more and more students arriving to school at or after the posted start time. This is causing students to be late to 1st period. It's really important that whether a student drives to school or is dropped off, they arrive with enough time to be in class and ready to go at 7:45 (M,T,W,F) or 8:15 (Th) depending on the day. Please talk with your students about the importance of being to school and classes on time.
If your student is absent from school please call our attendance line at 509-558-3801 to excuse their absence.
Go Falcons!
