Crash
by Jerry Spinelli the Newberry Medalist
Short Summary
Crash is about a young teenager named John Coogan. They call him crash, mostly because he can mow down anything in his path. We follow his experience on how he loves to humiliate Penn Webb, his favorite target. Until his best friend takes a prank too far, he'll have to choose sides. Will he want to fit in or do whats right?
What I found powerful
In all there is some pretty powerful points in this book. The one I found best of all of them is when Crash starts realizing what he is turning into. This happens after his grandfather that he loves so much has a stroke, and doesn't remember anything. I found this powerful because it shows that when bad things happen some good can come out of it. In this case Crash realizes what he has doing bad since the summer before first grade.
