PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora tātou,
Wasn't it wonderful to have a fine day for our Whānau House Event on Monday. The children had a great time working in their whānau groups across a wide range of activities. It was great to see them outside, enjoying themselves. It was also wonderful to see parents and whānau here on the day too!
Last Friday our Showquest team were announced as 2nd place getters in the National Junior Showquest competition. It was a fabulous result and continues the run of awesome results we have had over the last few years. I congratulate the entire cast and crew as it is a huge piece of work that leads to such continuing successes. Isabel McMinn (pictured above) was awarded the Most Outstanding Ranagtahi Award, which was an incredible recognition of her role. Congratulations Isabel, we are very proud of you.
Today we were meant to hold our first Interschool rugby game, but the weather has intervened. It reinforces that many parts of school life are returning, and I am thrilled with that. Yes, we continue with the recommendation round masks inside for Te Whanaki and Māhuri, and for visitors, but the fact that we are involved in more and more interschool events rally is great.
Tomorrow the Te Whanake students have their Learning Expo. It is an exciting opportunity for the tamariki to share their learning. More details on Hero. Keep an eye out for other events coming up, including kapahaka.
A reminder that we are in the middle of the Triennial Board of Trustee Elections. Nominations close at noon today. If you are interested, please touch base with Mrs Mulholland in the school office. If you know you are 'putting your hand up' you have until noon to get your nomination into Mrs Mulholland.
Kia pai tō wiki.
Ngā mihi
Rikki Sheterline
Nau mai haere mai Miss Smith
A warm, Levin East welcome to Miss Erin Smith who will be teaching the tamariki in Room 5 for the rest of the year as Miss Comeskey is on parental leave. Miss Smith comes to us from Canada and brings a range of skills that suit her well to that role.
