Land of READ-A-LOT
Maidens and Lords will finish the year with a novel study! We are reading Mockingbird, by Kathryn Erskine. Students will be following Caitlin through her journey with Asperger's. The daily reading would be great conversation for around the dinner table!! We will be taking AR tests over this book today or Monday!!
Missions in Math
The Kingdom has been working on measuring to the nearest 1/4 inch and then plotting their measurements on a line plot! Tricky...Tricky...Tricky!! On Thursday and Friday, students were introduced to comparing fractions to a 1/2!
Soaring in Science
Students continued to follow the engineering design process by imagining and planning what materials would be useful in an oil spill clean up! They used their food web from lesson 3 to remind themselves what organisms will be affected by this human error! Some students moved into the create phase of the EDP and began to clean up an oil spill!
WRITING that is Worthwhile
Our Maidens and Lords began the final writing activity for the year. We will be writing bucket filling comments to each other so that when we end school next week, we will have a book of thoughts to take with us for the summer!
