Lead Learner Highlights
This week's KP's Connection is short and sweet. Please see announcements regarding report card distribution, drop off expectations, our math Night, cafeteria staffing updates, and musical information.
Math Night January 25th at 6:30PM - Khan Academy
We are excited about our Math Night featuring the use of Khan Academy. Please meet us in the KP Commons for a brief overview and then we will move into classrooms for hands on sessions. Feel free to make it an opportunity to learn this program with your KP child.
Cafeteria Staffing Changes
On Friday, we bid farewell to Laurie Ferreira our KP Cafeteria Manager who served students and staff for 17+ years. She will be joining the staff at Conard High School as their Cafteria Manager. We wish her the best. While we will miss her, we are happy that she will continue to serve students and staff of West Hartford Public Schools.
Starting on Monday, Lisa Davis, from Conard, will start as KP's Cafeteria Manager.
Our report card distribution will be delayed one day and distrubuted on Wednesday, January 27th
Morning Drop-Off MUST happen in the back of the building
Parent/Guardians, as we have discussed, for the safety of our students and to expedite bus arrivals, we are reminding parents/guardians to please drop off students in the circle at the Mohawk entrance at the back of the school. There are adults there to usher students to their appropriate team area.
Starting on Monday, our security team will be directing any cars to the back for drop off between 7:40am-8:00am. I want to thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
For 8th Grade Families
The next important event related to the 8th to 9th transition process is:
- Jan. 27 @ 7:00PM -- Grade 8 Parent/Guardian Night at Hall High School
Eighth grade students should have received a program of studies from Hall High School and a gold-colored elective course registration form. Please review this information with your child so that they are prepared to register for classes the first week of February. If your child did not receive these materials, please have them see their counselor.
Late Bus
Callbacks will take place on Tuesday afternoon for select students. Our first rehearsal will be after school on Friday, January 29, where we will reveal the cast list. This is going to be an amazing show! For updates and rehearsal calendar, check out our drama website: https://sites.google.com/a/whps.org/kp-drama/
