PLEASANT VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL, * * * June 15, 2020
PRINCIPALS' CORNER
Greetings PVM Families and Students,
It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of this school year. This will be a year that we will never forget. Thank you all for hanging in there with us and this new learning. Currently we are waiting on direction to what next year's school situation will look like. Our community will be informed when we get that direction.
Thank you all for your assistance with the pick up and drop off times. Things went really smoothly and people remained safe while doing it as well. Our 8th grade recognition drive around was a big hit on Friday, and it was so nice to see our 8th grade students one last time before they move on to high school.
Thank you families for your continued support. Have a wonderful summer everyone!
Mike Maloney, Principal, Pleasant Valley Middle School

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
~ Winnie the Pooh
It is with a heavy heart that I write this message to you, our PVM family, to let you know how much you will be missed. Come August, I will be embarking on my next adventure as the Associate Principal of Amboy Middle School. I have greatly enjoyed my three years at Pleasant Valley Middle School getting to know our students, staff, and families. You welcomed me with open arms, have taught me a great many things, and I will forever be grateful. I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and your willingness to find workable solutions to move this wonderful school forward. Pleasant Valley will always have a special place in my heart. I wish you all the very best and hope you enjoy your summer.
Take care of each other,
Mrs. Smith, Krishna

Clark County Youth Commission Positions - Apply by June 17th
The Clark County Youth Commission, an official youth advisory board to the Clark County Council, is seeking youth from all walks of life to join its group for the next school year.
We are contacting you because the Youth Commission wants to be even more intentional about reaching out to youth who are currently underrepresented or unrepresented in the group and extend an invitation for those youth to apply to join the board. Next year, the Youth Commission could greatly benefit from having more middle school students from Battle Ground as a part of the group.
It is our hope you will look closely at the extraordinary young people you know, whether they’re in your class or in your school, and ask yourself: Who wouldn’t normally get an opportunity to have a leadership role in their community? Who has experienced things their peers haven’t? Who needs to know their voice is valued? It’s people like these the Youth Commission is looking for. The group continuously strives to be more representative of the diversity of youth living in Clark County.
Between now and June 17, we are actively recruiting for Youth Commission members to fill some vacancies throughout Clark County:
· All open positions are available for youth who live in Clark County.
· New Leader positions are available for youth with no previous leadership experience.
· We have some positions open to specific school districts.
More information about the Youth Commission and applications to apply can be found at https://www.clark.wa.gov/community-services/youth-commission. The application is available in Word, PDF, and Google Survey.
We appreciate your interest and want to let you know we are here to help. Please contact Elizabeth Houston-Hill at 564.397.5133 or Elizabeth.Hill@clark.wa.gov if you have any questions.
Thank you for your help and time,
Clark County Youth Commission

Family and Community Resource Center
Battle Ground Public Schools’ Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) helps meet the needs of families faced with housing instability and similar economic challenges.
While a main goal of the FCRC is to assist families experiencing housing instability, it can also help connect families with many other types of resources and is intended to respond to the changing needs of the community.
The FCRC is a continuation of the district’s joint efforts with the Battle Ground Education Foundation, an all-volunteer, nonprofit community organization whose purpose is to leverage community resources to help maintain quality education for all students in Battle Ground schools.
The Family Resource Guide is full of contacts to aid families in connecting with agencies who are able to help with a great variety of needs. Please click the link below to view this helpful guide.

Online Payment for Purchases, Fees and Fines
Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce that the Battle Ground School District is opening online payments for parents as a convenience when paying for items such as yearbooks, field trips, dances, tests, student fees, donations etc. You can access this site at https://wa-battleground.intouchreceipting.com/ We have also included a "Pay Fees and Fines icon" under the quick links section on our website that will take you directly to the payment website.
Please note there is a convenience fee that will be assessed if you choose to use this as a payment option. You will still be able to mail payments (marked with student first and last name and what the payment is for) to Pleasant Valley Middle School, P.O.Box 200, Battle Ground, WA 98604. When we are back to learning in the school buildings you may still come into the office, or send money with your student to pay for items, like we have always done. All permission slips for any activity or field trip will still need to be filled out and turned in to teachers. If the field trip you are paying for is offering chaperone spots, you will need to come in and pay for that at the school office. You cannot pay for chaperone fees online, only students.
The login username and password are as follows:
Username is your student's "Other ID" number. This information is located in Skyward under the Student Info tab on the left pane. It is also the number on the student's ASB card.
Password is your student's last name as it appears in Skyward. Make sure the first letter is capitalized.
