3rd Grade Health Requirements
As we approach the end of the school year, we wanted to send out a reminder regarding the mandated health requirements for all upcoming 3rd grade students:
• 28 PA Code § 23.3 (a) requires a dental examination for all children in grade three.
Exams completed after July 1, 2022, are considered acceptable to meet this requirement. Please submit a copy of your child’s dental form to the GES nurses’ office. Click Here for Dental Exam Form. If you have any questions regarding this mandate, please contact the nurses’ office. 610-473-5070
6th Grade Health Requirements
As we approach the end of the school year, we wanted to send out a reminder regarding the mandated health requirements for all upcoming 6th grade students:
- Pennsylvania Public School Code Section 1402 Health Services (e) requires proof of a comprehensive physical exam for all students in grade 6.
Exams completed after July 1, 2022 are considered acceptable to meet this requirement. Please submit a copy of your child’s physical form to the GES nurses’ office prior to the end of the school year, or to the MSE nurses’ office after that. Click Here for the Physical Exam Form. Attendance Excuse Note Reminder
ATTENDANCE REMINDER: Parents/guardians are required to provide written notification (handwritten note, email, or electronic excuse blank) to the school for each day their child is not in attendance. Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse explaining the absence, to be submitted within three (3) days of the absence. The district will not change the attendance code for written notifications received after (3) three days.
For the 2022-2023 school year: If you are reporting a student absence due to a confirmed case of Covid-19, please complete this FORM in addition to providing a handwritten, electronic, or email note. You MUST complete an attendance excuse in addition to the Covid-19 form. BASD is required to report confirmed cases of Covid-19 to the PA Department of Health.

As the school year winds down, our executive board is hard at work trying to plan for next year. We are hoping to form full committees for our events to make them the most successful! We NEED your help! If you are interested in helping in any way with any event please fill out our survey! We are excited to grow our partnership even more with our GES families and staff in the upcoming year. We have so many great ideas but we need your help to make them come to life. If you are hesitant to sign up because you are unsure as to what it all entails, have no fear, we will be distributing full packets to our committees with all you need to know! We got you 😀

Educational Trip: Parents/Guardians must complete an Educational Trip Form 2 days prior to your child's absence. **Please note that failure to submit a trip form prior to departure will result in trip days being counted as an unlawful absence.
