Bathroom Cleaners!
All spaces should be cleaned DAILY - this includes trash dumped, tables cleaned and disinfected, carpet vacuumed, sinks and counters cleaned, windows cleaned. If something gets missed in your classroom, office or flex space, please immediately email both Willis and Nick and copy me.
Mid-Term Progress & Conferences
- Start and end with a positive comment about the child.
- Remember to use Mindful Inquiry - First Listen, then Inquire, then Respond
- Remember: Progress reports should reflect 1. student's most recent performance, not an average. 2. where you would expect students to be on February 16th NOT May 23rd.
- No Surprises! Make sure behavior and/or academic concerns have been communicated before conferences. Parents should not be "surprised" when they receive their child's progress report.
- Have plenty of work samples to support progress report markings.
- Avoid using educational jargon.
SRSSIE Summary Info For Your Class
During our PD on Wednesday, we discovered that the SRSSIE Summary data for your class did not tranfer to the pyramid graphs correctly. This was the data that showed the percent of your class that was in each of the tiers. The data was CORRECT, but the pyramids were wrong. IT is working on this issue as it transfers correctly on my Dell but not on my Mac!!
When looking at the data you want to see at least 80% of your students in Tier 1. If you have less than 80%, this indicates that Tier 1 needs to be strengthened. Below is the link to our CI3T Core Plan (also called Tier 1, also called Primary plan). Please review this plan to ensure all the expectations are being implemented with fidelity.
Lost and Found Expectations
We let parents know that we would be packing up the Lost and Found after December 15th. Everything will be packed up and donated this week. After the break kids need to be reminded about the lost and found etiquette. We will make visuals for where things are supposed to go, but here are some expectations you can review… Thanks!
PUT items IN A BUCKET, NOT ON THE FLOOR!
There is a bucket for mittens/ hats etc.
Lunchboxes go on top shelf – empty out any food left in box before putting it in the L&F
Water bottles go on top shelf – empty them out first
Backpacks go on top shelf
Shoes – can go on the floor lined up against the wall
Small items – such as glasses, jewelry, books will have a bucket (library books can be taken to the library)
Papers can be thrown away
