In the long and skinny country, Vietnam, the Red and Mekong rivers deposit rich nutrients into the soil, forming deltas. The two main deltas are separated by mountains and large plains. The Mekong river splits into 9 branches as it makes its way toward the ocean. Fan Si Pan, the tallest mountain in Vietnam, is located in the Northwest.
