Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are enjoying your day. This newsletter is a long one, full of exciting information from the Parents' Guild. Please make sure to read through it carefully.

Thank you very much for following our health and safety guidelines so faithfully regarding the daily screening and keeping your children home when they are feeling under the weather. I am so proud to be part of this community that is working together to keep the students and families at Transfiguration school safe. As the holidays are approaching I wanted to remind you of a very important message from the Superintendent of New York Catholic Schools, Michael Deegan that was sent in October. In it, he wrote to us:

"It is critical to make the right decisions away from school. Almost without exception, every positive COVID case affecting one of our school communities was a result of activities, including contact sports, parties, travel, or all three after school or over the course of a weekend.

As life goes on and holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving approach, we urge you to take account of numbers of people in attendance and space available for safe distancing. Perhaps adopt a group conscience for an exit strategy in situations where your family does not feel comfortable with the surroundings. We have all come too far to allow peer pressure or embarrassment to put ourselves or our schools at risk."

Report Cards and Conferences

Report Cards will be going home Monday, November 23rd through our Parent Portal (Educate). In case you have lost your information, we will be sending out login information out through email the morning of the 23rd.

Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday, November 24th. Last week, we sent out the sign up for parent teacher conferences via email. Please scroll down to find your teacher. Remember, you will only be meeting with homeroom teachers on that day. The link to sign up for conferences is below.

Information from the Parents' Guild

Hello Transfiguration Families!

We just got word of our Fundraising Goal from The Archdiocese. This year's goal is $35,000. This is an attainable goal and we have many easy and fun ways to achieve it. The Parents' Guild will be hosting a Zoom meeting this Wednesday, November 18th, at 7pm for all Class Parents, Committee Chairs, and anyone interested in sharing ideas or volunteering their time and talent as we explore safe, responsible and fun ways to build our community and reach our goal. Scholastic Book Fair Kicks off this Friday, November 20th! This year the book fair is virtual, which means you can shop from home! Any order over $25 ships free and gets delivered directly to your home!

To kick off this book fair we will be hosting BOOK FAIR BINGO on Zoom, Friday November 20th at 7pm. Purchase your BINGO cards via the link below. Pie Sale Did you order pies from the pie sale? Pies are arriving next MONDAY, Nov. 23rd, and will be distributed during pick up 2:15pm - 3:00pm. If you are unable to pick up your pies within this window please email Eileen Koraca @ transfigurationschoolguild@gmail.com.
