The newest addition to this app is the Fulton County Public Library's CLASS PASS. No longer do we need a library card to use the Fulton County Public Library. This is the third year that APS has partnered with the public library to allow its students and employees the opportunity to use the library resources without a card. For more information visit http://www.afpls.org/class.
Advantages of Class Pass @APS:
- There is no card involved
- Students use their APS username and password
- There are no late fees
- If a student loses a book, the fee is a writing assignment
Class Pass allows the following checkouts:
Print checkouts:
- 50 books, 10 CDs, 5 DVDs
Digital checkouts:
- Hoopla - 10 downloads per month*
- Overdrive - 10 items every 30 days
- Axis 360 - 5 titles per month
*Hoopla is one of my favorites, but you will have to establish a separate username and password. Store that information somewhere where you can find it easily.
This school year, If each member of the Benteen family reads for a minimum of 20 minutes each day, and records the title(s) along with the minutes read, on the Beanstack digital reading log, we will reach our goal. The Beanstack / APSRace2Read app is available on myBackpack, or it can be accessed at https://apsbenteen.beanstack.org/reader365. To login, students will need to use their network login username, and their password is race2read. To find out more about this reading challenge, visit http://www.beanstack.com/race2read. Now you can link a reader's profile with their Fulton County Library System account, so that their reading counts at both places.
Next month, we will explore how we can include family members in this challenge as well. So let's get ready!
