Budget Passes - Thank you to the Community!
West Genesee residents approved the 2022-2023 Budget, Transportation/Maintenance Equipment Purchase proposition, and Capital Reserve Fund proposition on May 17, 2022.
The $97,279,760 budget received 903 favorable votes and 263 votes in opposition.
The proposition (#1) for the Transportation and Maintenance Equipment Purchase received 926 favorable votes and 242 votes in opposition.
The proposition (#2) for the Capital Reserve Fund received 920 favorable votes and 239 votes in opposition.
The propositions (#3, #4, and #5) that would provide funding for three area libraries (Fairmount Community, Maxwell Memorial, and Onondaga Free) were put to a vote. The proposition for Fairmount Community Library received 916 favorable votes and 242 votes in opposition; the proposition for Maxwell Memorial Library received 926 favorable votes and 230 votes in opposition; and the proposition for Onondaga Free Library received 902 favorable votes and 258 votes in opposition.

Board of Education Election Update!
The candidates for the Board of Education received the following votes: Elizabeth N. Donaldson-931; Sean J. Hopkins-531; Jennifer A. James-857, and Aaron J. Ryder-700. Donaldson, James, and Ryder had the most votes and will fill the three open three-year terms starting July 1.

Please note that the “Talk with the Superintendent” sponsored by the West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council that was planned for Wednesday, May 25 has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with various events.
