IMPORTANT - New Gun Laws in Texas - January 1, 2016
Conceal Carry and Open Carry of Handguns is now permitted in Texas. Kingwood Montessori has decided for several reasons to not allow guns into the building. You will see signs posted on the front windows.
If you have questions about this law feel free to contact Emily Keown (Classes 206 & 208) elkeown@gmail.com or you read more here http://momsdemandaction.org/campaigns/signage-rules-for-small-business-owners/
There is a good chance you will see guns in this community find a way to talk with your children, and if you would like Emily to help you approach a business or church to talk about signage feel free to contact her.
In January or February, Emily would love to do a presentation for the http://besmartforkids.org campaign. The Be SMART campaign was created to bring together all responsible adults to reduce the number of unintentional shootings that occur when children get a hold of an unsecured firearm. If you are interested in listening to this presentation please let her know by email.

Soccer Shots Today!
The Soccer Shots 10 week winter season at Kingwood Montessori starts today,
Tuesday, Jan 5th and will also be on Wednesday, Jan 6th. If you would like your child to participate in the program, please enroll him/her within next couple days, because there are limited spots for each school.
Here are the main emphasis:
Coaches: Hiring only the best coaches to work with children. Every coach is thoroughly trained and receives over 20 hours of on-field, classroom, and e-Learning training. Our training programs ensure that coaches are using developmentally appropriate methods and language. All coaches have their required background checks as well.
Curriculum: Our curriculum is aligned with the Texas Early Learning Guidelines and has been reviewed by Early Childhood professionals.
Communication: We handle the entire registration and communication process with parents. Each week, the parents receive a summary of what their child has learned in our program.
