·How does the point system work?
Each age group will be awarded Destination Training points. 1st place in the age group will be awarded a minimum of 10 points, 2nd place will receive 9 points and so on.
· How does the point system work for age groups?
Yes. Example:
The points will depend on the largest age group size. If the largest age group has 15 runners the 1st place point will be 15 points across all age groups.
What happens if I change age groups in the middle of the year?
The age group in which you will compete all year is determined by the age you are when you run your first Destination Training Race Series event and you will stay in that age group the entire year. Your points will be awarded as if you were still in the same age group. For example, if you run your first 2016 Destination Training Race Series event and you are 49 years old, you are placed in the 45-49-year-old age group for points. The next race you run and have had a birthday and turned 50,you will stay in the same age group for our series.
· What will I get if I receive the most points in the series?
If you receive the most points for 2016, you will get at least 2 prizes. You will be the 1st winner of the Destination Training Series Cup and you will be able to run as many DTS events you want, for free in 2017. Some limitations will apply. For example, you will have to pre-register for the race, it will not be available to you if you sign up race day. You must pre-register before the cutoff date set by that race. You cannot sign up for ALL races on the series, only the ones you are planning on running. The prize is not transferable to another runner or family member. If you are the overall point person in 2016, you will be able to compete for the Will Chamberlin Memorial Cup in 2017 but you will not be allowed to win the free races for a year prize in 2018 since you are racing for free in 2017. The free races will then go to the 2nd overall point person.
·When will the points be published on the website?
Our timer will strive to have the points posted within a few days after the race.
· What will the age group winners receive at the end of the year?
