Blaze Bulletin
Edition 36 - May 15th
Greetings...
Dear teachers,
Final countdown is on! Thank you for being alert, teaching, supervising, and just generally going above and beyond. Depending on who you listen to, last week or this week was Teacher Appreciation Week! Regardless, please accept my thanks for all you do. Teaching is a high calling that not all can answer, but you have. My wish for you is that you reap some of the joys of your efforts! If you do get some validation from a former student, praises! If you don't, never believe that you have not made a difference - because you have! Some students are just better at expressing it than others.
I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit. - Steinbeck
Happy weekend!

BIOMETRIC SCREENING....
All active employees and their spouses who are covered by the 2017 health care plan must complete the health assessment survey on the Cigna website and the fasting biometric screening as part of the annual wellness campaign.
The biometric screening can be done at a MedPoint clinic or through your primary care physician sometime between January 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017.
For active employees and spouses covered under the County health plan that do not participate, the employee will pay an additional $300 for insurance premiums through payroll deductions in the following year, 2018.
You can find information for completing this process on the Rutherford County Schools’ website under the careers tab, then employee benefits.
JUST AROUND THE CORNER....
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
