KLSD (K-12) will run a series of safety drills next week. These are only drills. We will be sure to communicate that clearly to the students. Prior to each drill, teachers will discuss what we are doing and why, as well assure the students that we are practicing situations so that we can keep each other safe. We will perform a lockdown and barricade drill, a mass evacuation drill, and a situational drill or a combination of both (barricade or evacuate). You can help by talking to your children at home about the importance of safety drills at school and reminding them not to worry, as we are just practicing! Thanks!
If your child is a car rider, please refer to the traffic map shared below for a reminder of the procedure. Thank you for your patience, as we get everyone unloaded/loaded safely and in a timely manner. Please do not get out of your cars in the line so that we can keep it moving. Thanks for your help!

Introducing Mr. Bastian!
Introducing Ms. Folk!
Hi! I'm Abby Folk. I grew up in Concord, Ohio and attended Lake Catholic for high school. From there I went to Miami University where I found my passion for education and studied Middle Childhood Education. At Miami I was the chapter president of a national mentoring organization called College Mentors for Kids which is still near and dear to my heart today. Last year was my first year of teaching and I spent it at Memorial Middle School teaching 7th and 8th grade ELA and reading intervention. When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family on Kelleys Island and go on hikes with my dog Summer. I could not be more excited to be joining the Kirtland Elementary School team and continue my love for teaching in 4th grade!
