Weekly Announcements & Updates
- The Lee High School Vocal Performance Magnet will present their Stories & Legends Dinner Theater this Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:00pm in the theater lobby. Tickets must be purchased on GoFan. Meals have to be pre-ordered so the cut off day to buy tickets will be this friday April 29!
AP Exams begin THIS week! Most of our AP exams begin at 8:00am, even though school begins at 8:30. This means you need to get to school by 7:30 / 7:45 at the latest! Please see Mrs. Stewart with any questions about AP testing.
Ms. Stephens would like everyone to wear green this Friday, May 6th for Mental Health Awareness Month.
Seniors that have Ms. Murillo for Economics this nine weeks with Ms. Murillo need to keep these dates in mind:
Week of May 9th - May 13th will be sharing their advertising project presentations
Last day to turn in work: May 17th
Final Exams: 3rd and 4th block are on May 18 and 1st and 2nd block are on May 19.
We will do team reviews intermittently during the weeks of May 2nd - May 17th
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you be in class in order to study and participate before the final exam.

Lee Girls Basketball Tryouts will be May 10th -12th from 4pm to 6pm. Bring a copy of your sports physical, last progress/report card, a bottle of water, and athletic gear (shorts, shoes, shirt, etc.) Contact Coach Silas in room 241 if you have any questions (jetaime.silas@hsv-k12.org).
- Attention Seniors! Senior fees are due soon! If you need to see how much you owe in senior fees, please see the bookkeeper Ms. Swopes!
Prom tickets are on sale! They are $60 now and will be $80 per person the day of prom, which will THIS Saturday, May 7th. Please see the bookkeeper Ms. Swopes to purchase a prom ticket.
If you already purchased a prom ticket, you may pick them up with proof of purchase after the senior awards day on May 1st in room 140.
- The Lee High School Art Garden is seeking seed donations: cone flowers, sunflower, zinnia, cosmos, foxgloves, peony, and poppy. They also need pine straw. Please contact Jessica Johnson jessica.johnson@hsv-k12.org if you are willing to make a donation. Thanks!
Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to our Freshmen of the Week! Danielle Whitman came to us from Chapman Middle School. She wants to participate in track and cheer in the future. In her free time, she likes to go on walks outside and be on her phone. She has two sisters and a brother who have graduated from Lee. After graduating from Lee, she wants to go to Cosmetology school. James Phillips came to us from the Academy for Academics & Arts Middle School. Here at Lee, he is a part of the Theatre Production Magnet. In his free time, he enjoys playing videogames and playing the cello. He has 2 older sisters who graduated from New Century Technology High School. After graduating from Lee, he wants to go to college and pursue a career in technical theatre. Great job living out our FamiLEE values every day!
- Shout-out to the Lee High School Track Team! They did great at the 5A Sectionals in Guntersville yesterday and today!!! Jayda Blair-Raby, Jaila Walker, Shi’Ann Perez, and O’Marea Archie came in 3rd place in the girls 4x100m relay, Jeremy Brown, Shawn Bryant, Shamell Haigler, and Cameron Lacy came in 2nd place in the boys 4x100m relay, Chris Strong won 2nd Place in Shot Put, Cameron Lacy came in 1st place in the 100m and 200m, and Jeremy Brown came in 4th place in the Long Jump! They are State Championship Bound!!!
- Shout-out to our amazing Softball seniors Maryjane Glover, Danielle Humphrey, and Destinee Humphrey! They were recognized at the softball senior night last week!
- Shout-out to seniors Trishelle Childress, Cameryn Woods-Carthen, Arianna Williams, Zaccheaus Azubike, Christopher Strong, and Johat Pomales! They were recognized at Career & Technical Education Signing Day last week which was for students who have chosen to further their education at technical colleges or enter the workforce! They have all participated in HCS CTE classes and/or Dual Enrollment classes at JF Drake State Community & Technical College. Way to go!!!
