"Be Committed, Be Consistent, Be Courageous"
Learning, Love, and Wonderful Surprises
Hello Phoenix Nation!
The past few weeks we have had a lot of critical conversations. It is the time of the year where we must take a moment to step back and reflect on what we have accomplished and our goals for the future. It is important is that we have a spirit of generosity with ourselves and others regardless if we have already reached our goals or still striving towards them. If you would not say it to our CEO, do not say it to yourself or others! Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others.
We, also, ask that we all extend patience and kindness while maintaining high expectations for our scholars. For some of our scholars this holiday season is full of excitement and joy, and for others, anxiety and sadness. Let’s do our best to wrap our arms around all scholars and give them two amazing last weeks of school filled with learning, love, and wonderful surprises. "Kindess is like snow. It beautifies everything it covers." - Kalil Gibran
Inspired by you,
Priscilla, Chataqua, Chrissy, and Jabez

Things to Do
Accept the Calendar Invite from Priscilla: Priscilla will have a chat with staff who are not on her coaching load over the next 2 weeks. Someone will cover your classroom during this time. If the time selected for your doesn't work for your schedule, please let her know as soon as possible.
Sign off on all iShine observations, goal-setting forms, and mid-year evaluation forms. How? When opening iShine, click on the STAFF tab. Then, click on MY PROFILE. Once the form loads, look on the left side of the page. Click on Coaching Observations, Mid-year Evaluation, Full Observations, and Goal-Setting form links to make sure you do not have a form that indicates it is awaiting your input or sign-off.
Enter Grades: Reminder that grades should be completed before you leave for winter break.
Reset Class Expectations and Reinvest Scholars: The first three days we are back, there should be an expectation and culture reset happening in your classes along with content. If you need support with this, please reach out to your dean with any questions you have.
Prepare CA2/Benchmark Testing: The CA/Benchmark testing window will open Monday, December 9th. Please refer to the email from Cynthia for all testing logistics and information. If you have any questions, please reach out to Cynthia or Ranae. It is an expectation that you grade CA’s as you go. All CA’s must be entered/scanned into Aware by Wednesday, December 18th at 4pm.
Complete and Turn In Winter Check Out Form: Please complete the winter check out form (separate email) by Wednesday the 18th. Once it is complete, turn it in to OPS.
Determine if and which Scholar's Need Academic Winter Packets: It is a preference that academic winter packets for scholars are not sent home. If your content team decides to send a work packet everyone in the content must agree. This packet may ONLY have 4 pages total. On the cover page, please add the EdTech resources that you use at your grade level as well as a space for scholars to put their username and password so that they can have access over the break. If you are sending an academic work packet home, please message to parents to let them know. Holiday work packets may not count against scholars who do not complete them. They may increase points for scholars.
