The Texas Maverick Graphic Novels Reading List (TMGNRL) is a recommended reading list developed by public and school librarians from the Young Adult Round Table (YART). The purpose of the list is to encourage students in grades 6-12 to explore a variety of current books.

Dress Coded is one of the 2021 Lone Star books featured in last week's virtual library.

So far I am really enjoying it. It has a student viewpoint of how rules (especially the dress code) are enforced at schools. The characters are interesting and the story reflects their different views of one of them being "dress coded" unfairly resulting in consequences for the whole grade level. It also features a series of podcasts that the main character hosts to help tell the story. Features mainly female characters but I think its a good middle school read for anyone and I can't wait to finish it!
