Hindus believe in the Law of Karma, which determines the destiny of its believers in this life and the next. They believe in the authority of the Vedas (the oldest Indian sacred text) and the Brahmans (Hindu priest). Hindus believe in reincarnation, which is the belief that when you die, your spirit begins a new life in another being. The basic teaching of Hinduism, or Vedanta, is that a human being's basic nature is not held within the body or the mind. All beings and things are this pure or divine spirit, full of peace, full of joy and wisdom. They believe that these things can actually be experienced. Hindus also believe that truth is eternal. one other belief is that individual souls are immortal.
