SPORTS PASSES (MEMBERSHIP)
We support students, faculty and staff in their sports endeavors by providing opportunities to do recreational sports through:
- sports classes;
- club sports;
- open-gym access;
- intramural sports.
Sports Passes at NU:
- For students (prices per month)
Gym Pass - KZT 1 000,
Sports Class Pass - KZT 3 500.
- For staff/faculty/campus residents (prices per month)
Gym Pass - KZT 5 000,
Sports Class Pass - KZT 7 000,
All-Access 6mo. - KZT 40 000,
All-Access 12mo. - KZT 65 000.
How to buy a Pass?
- Check with the coach of the class you are to attend for available spots,
- Pay with card at USM financial office (block 22, #096) or online (either through bank account or via KASSA24 account online, and through terminal posts), recieve a receipt;
- Bring receipt to Sports Center concierge and receive a Pass you paid for. If you are a student, you DO NOT have to deal with any receipts, passes info is automatically registered to your online account within the billing system.
NOTE: payments and Passes are to be acquired from 08:30 to 17:30. Lunch: 12:30-13:30.
Important. All Sports Classes for Spring 2017 are open until April 30. Starting the month of May classes will close for summer break until Septemer. Please plan your pass purchases accordingly.

Yoga by Indian Culture Center
No special pass is required for this class, but attendees must own one of the NU sports passes to enrol.

Astana Basketball Academy
Head coach of Academy, Dean Parezhanin comes from «Partizan» basketball club, one of the best schools in training children and cadets in Europe. He has spent his entire coaching career working with children and youth teams in Serbia, having led his teams in the Euroleague.
Objectives: The main objective of the Academy is to develop harmonious personality with the character of the winner and the ability of teamwork. Individual positive approach to each child is the foundation of the Academy training system, which will result in the formation of a strong bond FAMILY-SCHOOL-ACADEMY.
Goals: We aim at building a solid base for the development of basketball in the country and then receiving higher sports education.

FFA Center for Football
NU plays as a training base for the Center, and our community is welcome to explore the opportunities it provides.
Each and every Center student is equipped with jersey kit, protection items, and even a separate practice ball.
The unique teaching methodology is developed by coach emeritus, sports director of Kazakhstan Football Federation, Anatoli Yuriev.

NU Acrobatics Class
Objective: provide an opportunity for children of the community to do sports on campus.
Coach: class is instructed by International Master of Sports, NU Cheerleading Team coach, Nurat Smagulov. Nurat is a former competitive athlete with vast experience under the belt, including 5 years at Cirque du Soleil, Toronto.
Schedule: trainings run 3 times a week from 17:30 to 19:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 11:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays at NU Sports Center's Gymnastics Hall.

There is no specific fee related to membership, but attending training sessions at Sports Center will need a pass (any active Sports Pass of NU).

Nazarbayev University Futsal League is an intramural futsal league for students, staff and faculty, ran by Sports Center, Student Government and University's volunteer community.

NUFL is an NU intramural league for students, faculty and staff with 3 divisions:
- Division I: Students A League (211 players in 20 teams)
- Division II: Students B League (100 players in 10 teams)

NU Student Competes at 2017 World Ju-Jitsu Championship U21 in Greece
Championship is scheduled for March 17-19.

NU Basketball Team is competing in Astana Basketball League 2017
20 teams are participating in this season, and KazATU is the other University team participating besides NU.

NU Student Awards
The V NU Student Awards ceremony is scheduled for April 7, 2017.
This year's Sports Contribution of the Year award nominees are nominated by special Sports Committee, and here are your candidates:

NU Women Football Team
- 3rd place at Nauryz Astana Tournament intercollegiate event in 2016
- 3rd place at 2016/17 Astana Universiade
Nazarbayev University Men's Football Team won the 2017 Astana Students League intercollegiate futsal championship, making it second consecutive title of the league!
The league is organized annualy by Astana Football Federation since last year, and 8 university teams competed in league play this year.

Intramural Kazakh Wrestling Tournament
The goal of the Tournament is to promote national sports and healthy lifestyle among the students of the University.
More than 40 NU students participated in the Tournament in 4 weight divisions and one absoluter weight category of “Tuie Paluan”. National Wrestling Federation’s representatives refereed the event.
Winners of the Tournament were awarded with medals, diplomas and valuable prizes.

NU Women Football Team Wins Bronze of Astana Universiade
Astana Universiade is a series of tournaments in 14 different sports that run at various Universities throughout academic year annually. NU competes in Astana Universiade since 2013.

NU Students Meet Kazakhstan National Tennis Team
NU Tennis Club hosted a public talk with the Kazakhstan National Women Tennis Team at Nazarbayev University on February 6.
Guests of the event:
· Yaroslava Shvedova – 13 WTA titles including two Grand Slam women's doubles titles (2010 Wimbledon, US Open). Golden set (2012 Wimbledon against Errani). Highest singles ranking: 25, doubles: 3.
· Galina Voskoboeva – 5 WTA and 12 ITF titles, highest singles ranking: 42, doubles, 26.
· Yulia Putintseva - 6 ITF titles. Highest singles ranking: 27.
· Kamila Kerimbayeva – 10 ITF titles
The event started off a bit formally in a great athmosphere with about 50 students in attendance. By the end of the event it turned out to be a very warm informal meeting with lots of jokes and smiles around.
Interactive games with valuable prizes, Q&A-autograph sessions were provided for everybody participating. The event was featured on national TV by KazSport.
Intramural Boxing Tournament
Open for all NU students this tournament pursues the goal of developing boxing and healthy life habbits among the younger generation.
2012 London Olympic Champion, Val Barker Trophy winner, and current Deputy of Kazakhstan Majilis, Serik Sapiyev graciously came out to support the event as an honorable guest, as he opened the tournament.
40 students paritcipated as competitors in 5 weight divisions.
